I got tired of all that red and decided to overhaul our wedding website. You can now view photos and descriptions of our wedding party, as well as get a visual introduction to the bride and groom.

We’ve got our hearts set on Duncan Hall in downtown Lafayette for our ceremony and reception. We’ll have access to the whole house for a whole day, and they provide tables and chairs, as well as set up/take down of both. We can also get them to provide place settings and dishwashing for just a little extra, so we’re pretty happy about that.

My dad is almost positively going to be preparing the food. We’re thinking jambalaya that’s got chicken, sausage, and shrimp in it for the meat eaters, and veggie soup for the vegetarians. We’ll also have veggie trays, bread, and CAKE for everyone.

Speaking of cake… I’m making it. The cake that we actually have sitting out will be mostly styrofoam. It’s much, much easier to cover a pre-cut styrofoam block with fondant and decorate it than it is to cover a piece of cake with fondant and then decorate it. Plus, styrofoam is lighter, and we won’t have to worry about moving a heavy cake or having it topple over. And it can be saved and looked at for years as opposed to just hours. I can’t wait to do a trial run, and I think I’m going to do it soon. I’ve been itching to try my hand at fondant.

Well, that’s all for news in wedding land. Be sure to check back soon!
